Evaluation License
When Chartsmith is installed, printing and exporting chart images are disabled until the application is licensed. All other functions are fully enabled. If you would like a free evaluation license in order to fully examine Chartsmith before you buy, please contact us at chartsmith@blacksmith.com.
Installation Instructions

Click on the download button above.

When the download is complete, your system will launch the Disk Copy application and create a volume at the root level of the Finder called "Chartsmith". Click on this volume.

If you do not find this volume in the Finder, your system probably did not automatically open the downloaded file. So locate the file that is titled "Chartsmith-X.Y.Z.dmg.gz" or "Chartsmith-X.Y.Z.dmg" (Where X.Y.Z correspond to the version number that you have download) and double click on this, then go back to the beginning of this step).

If your browser displays a lot of funny looking characters when you clicked the download button then your browser doesn't know to download this file instead of render it. Either use an alternative browser, or change the Preferences of your browser to send the data to an application like StuffIt Expander when it downloads it. Email us if you need help.

In the Chartsmith volume, you'll see a collection of files, including Chartsmith.app, which is the Chartsmith application. Drag these files to an installation folder. Note that since Chartsmith provides Services, the application must be stored in the Applications folder (or a subfolder) in one of the file-system domains ( Network, Local, and User) in order that Chartsmith's Services be registered when you log in. (If you wish to store it in the /Network/Applications folder, see the InstallationAndLicensing document, which downloads with the application, for more details).

Once you've dragged the Chartsmith files out of the volume, eject the volume by dragging it to the Trash. Also drag Chartsmith files that are left on your desktop, "Chartsmith-X.Y.Z.dmg.gz" or "Chartsmith-X.Y.Z.dmg", to the Trash.

You can now launch Chartsmith. New users should read the tutorials available in the download package, and check out the "Samples-Business.chartsmith" and "Samples-SciTech.chartsmith" documents. Happy Charting!

Licensing Information
If Chartsmith is launched with no licenses registered, it can be run in demo mode. In this mode, printing charts, saving charts as image files, dragging out chart images, and copying charts will be disabled; all other functions will operate normally.
Should you wish to evaluate a fully-enabled Chartsmith before purchasing it, we can provide an expiring license that will fully enable the application. Please contact us for an expiring license at chartsmith@blacksmith.com.

System Requirements
Chartsmith v1.2.9 requires Mac OS X 10.3 or higher.
Chartsmith v1.3.0 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and is a Universal Application.
Chartsmith v1.4.0 requires Mac OS X 10.5 or higher and is a Universal Application.
